Brush up your business 'knowhow' with free workshops
People who run their own companies, like many painters and decorators, often have enough daily business decisions to worry about without the added hassle of making sure they are up-to-date with all the legal obligation and regulations.
So, with that in mind, HM Revenues and Customs (HMRC) has set up a series of free workshops to give quick and practical advice to small business owners. The workshops, called HMRC Employer and Business Advice events, include a series of seminars presented by public sector experts on loads of important issues and recent developments.
The advice on offer covers everything from dealing with sick pay to making sure bosses claim all of the available tax allowances. Experts will also be on hand throughout the day to give further personal advice, and attendees can stock up on the useful information that is available to take away.
Workshops will be taking place across the country over the next couple of months, so if there is anything that tradesmen think they need to brush up on, they should get down to their closest event.
