Painting workshop highlights importance of career development
The first ever European Painting Skills Legacy Workshop, which was held in association with the International Association of Painting Contractors, has highlighted the importance of career development for decorators.
Sponsored by AkzoNobel, the event brought together 36 trainees and team leaders from across Europe, who were selected by the Painting and Decorating Association. From 30th May to 1st June, the candidates learnt about new products and techniques at the AkzoNobel studios in Sassenheim, the Netherlands.
The delegates also got the chance to join a colour tutorial at the sponsor's Colour Experience Centre and they ended their trip by giving a local school in the suburbs of Amsterdam a makeover.
John Staunton, Customer Marketing Manager at Dulux Trade, which is part of the AkzoNobel group, commented: "More than ever, it's important for tradespeople to be ahead of their game and this three day workshop was the ideal opportunity for the chosen decorators to find out about the latest advancements in their industry."
