Glidden Trade announces Paint and Pint winners

Glidden Trade has revealed the winners of its hotly contested 'Paint and a Pint' makeover competition. After battling it out against entrants from across the country, The Potters Arms in Chorley, Lancashire, and The Tiger Moth, Irlam, Salford, were declared the winners of a £2,000 transformation. Glidden Trade is now looking for local professional decorators and tradesmen to complete the works.

The competition was created by Glidden Trade and The Publican's Morning Advertiser in a bid to help the country's struggling pub industry. 'Paint and a Pint' gives independent landlords across the country the opportunity to win a business boosting makeover, which will also includes a consultation with a Glidden Trade colour expert, and a contribution to a reopening party for the local community.

As well as the two top awards, Glidden Trade awarded The Clock Inn in South Normanton, The Gresham House in Devon and the Thorold Arms in Grantham with silver prizes. These pubs will receive a visit from a Glidden Trade paint expert and £500 towards a makeover.

Five third place prizes were given to The White Swan in Northants, Engineer Arms in Bedfordshire, The Swallow Inn in Lincolnshire, Wrygarth Inn in Hull and The Royal Oak Inn in Somerset. Each third place pub will receive £100 in Glidden Trade vouchers.

Painters and decorators based near the pubs in Salford and Chorley who would like to tackle the makeover should contact Glidden Trade at gliddentrade@tangerinepr.com 07894 512720.
