'Business Angels' could help painters and decorators

There may be more finance available for painting and decorating contractors thanks to a new scheme.

Because small businesses and start-ups can sometimes find it difficult to attract funding, the Government has been looking at ways to encourage investment from larger companies and backers.

As a result, a new initiative has been launched which rewards so-called 'business angels' who help other companies grow by providing them with financial support.

Commenting, David Gauke, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, said: "The Government wants to make the UK the best place in Europe to start, finance and grow a business."
