Government slashes red tape on apprenticeships
Taking on new staff may soon become much easier for painters and decorators, as the Government has just announced measures to simplify the process of employing apprentices.
Minster of State for Skills, John Hayes, told businesses at a recent summit that from now on they will face less reporting and assessment when employing these trainees.
While a lot of the changes are intended to encourage large organisations to create more apprenticeship schemes, the simplifications will also help smaller businesses, such as painters and decorators.
Commenting, Hayes said: "I'm determined that more employers and learners than ever should have the opportunity to benefit from our unprecedented investment in apprenticeships. Where red tape and bureaucracy deters employers from taking on apprentices, we'll sweep it away."
