New Low Carbon construction plan announced

There are already ways that painters and decorators can improve their sustainability, such as choosing products with environmental credentials and disposing unwanted paints correctly, but now more will be done throughout the wider industry.

UK Business Minister Mark Prisk has revealed a new low-carbon construction action plan, which will see a combined Government-industry board set up to monitor progress and publish an updated Carbon Plan.

"Meeting the UK's commitment to reducing carbon will affect every aspect of the built environment and has the potential to provide the construction industry with a 40 year programme of work, creating greater opportunities for growth in the sector," says Prisk.

"Through this joint Government and industry action plan we are making a clear commitment to the low carbon transition."
