Painting and Decorating - A popular 'extra' skill
New research has revealed that two-thirds of people in the UK have a 'second skill' which they could turn into a career.
Painting and decorating is the second most common extra skill, with only cooking proving more popular.
The survey, carried out to mark the WorldSkills London event next month, also found that one in five people with a second talent use it to generate extra cash.
These additional abilities are already generating around £7.6 billion a year for the economy, and the survey results suggest that more than one and a half million people plan to turn their practical proficiencies into a full-time career in the future.
Aidan Jones, Chief Executive of WorldSkills London, said: "It is great to see that people are so diversely skilled and are using those skills to help boost the economy and develop their careers."
