Skills training to help employability
There could be extra help to make people more employable for painting and decorating roles, thanks to a recent announcement from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
With support from the Government, colleges will be able to offer free courses to those who are on job seekers allowance, as long as the training will help them secure work. Suggested classes include basic numeracy and literacy.
Commenting, Skills Minister John Hayes said: "It is good news for people who are currently reliant on benefits but want to get into work, and good news for employers looking for a local supply of the right skills to help their business grow."
