Small business owners can't leave work behind
It seems as though painters and decorators just can't put down their tools, even when they're on holiday!
A study by software company Inuit found that 72 per cent of small business owners sneak in a bit of work when they should be away on a break.
With over a third of employers worrying about leaving their company behind, many are turning what should be an enjoyable trip into a 'workcation'.
Almost half (49 per cent) of people use a laptop to keep on top of business matters while on holiday, and a further 70 per cent use mobile phones to look after their workload.
At least bosses in the painting and decorating industry are not the worst hit by this trend-managers in the hospitality sector are the most likely to worry, with 49 per cent concerned about leaving their responsibilities behind.
Commenting, Pernille Bruun-Jensen, Managing Director of Intuit UK, said: "Our findings show that small business owners never switch off [...] Rather than not taking a break at all, many of them are choosing to take their business away on holiday with them."
