Tech savvy tradesmen
A new survey has revealed that professional tradesmen are more tech savvy than is often presumed, with loads using smartphones to help them in their daily working routine.
The research, carried out by Dunlop Adhesives, found that 56 per cent of tradesmen had a smartphone, and 79 per cent of those smartphone owners used, or planned to use, the device to assist help them do their job.
However, while they may be using their mobile for web searches or interactive maps while on the job, only 22 per cent have downloaded any of the work related apps available to them.
Debi Bailey, brand manager for Dunlop Adhesives, said: "This survey reveals that times are changing; if a tradesman needs advice or guidance when tackling a particular job they are as likely to look for advice on their smartphone as they are to dust off an old builder's manual."
