Warning to DIY installers
A professional interior designer is warning homeowners to hire tradesmen when redecorating, instead of trying to do the job themselves.
Annette Callari, a colour design specialist, claims consumers think decorating is as easy in real life as it looks on reality TV - leading to DIY disasters.
Writing in a blog, she says: "Every designer I know has been on the receiving end of a call from a frustrated customer who gave the DIY method an honest try. After creating a mess and spending too much time and money, they make the call for professional help."
